When it comes to online shopping in Ghana, most people are scared to buy or sell items. The main reason for this is because of the fear of people duping them, their lack of trust in the eCommerce world, or their lack of knowledge of how the system works. I am giving out my list of best online shops in Ghana.
I have asked quiet a lot of people on my WhatsApp list if they would ever buy an item online. About 80% of them said no. This speaks at length of how people perceive online shopping when it comes to Ghana.
I don’t blame any of them. The educational system is so theoretical that the most important things that students need to be thought are neglected where the old, theory type of lectures are forced on them on a daily basis.
Today, I am listing the most important online shops in Ghana where you can buy anything you want ranging from clothing, computers and accessories, phones and tablets, books, name it.

List of Online Shopping Sites in Ghana
- Jumia:ย Jumia Ghana is a very broad website with a lot of goodies for online shoppers. It has branches in other African Countries including Nigeria, Morrocco, Kenya, Cote D’Ivoire and Cameroon. Jumiaย has a variety of store sites including Jumiaย Market, Food, Travel, andย Jumiaย House. Theย Jumia Dealsย is just like Tonaton,ย and OLX; Jumia Travelย is a hotel booking site. Jumia Food is my favorite. It is a food delivery site in Ghana. You order for any food of your choice and get it delivered to you at theย same price as that of getting it from the restaurant. This is a great idea.
- Zoobashop:ย Zoobashopย has a broad category of products from Phones, home appliances, food, drinks & groceries, fashion and beauty products, baby, kids & toys and lots more.
- Cheki Ghana:ย Checki is a car website in Ghana where you can buy or sell a car in Ghana.
- Melcom: Melcom Online is a new online shop in Ghana. We all know Melcom, and what they sell. Now, they have decided to get online. You can get all you need to buy from Melcom straight from their online shop, right from your home.
The above is the list of best online shopping sites in Ghana. Please note that I have not arranged them in order of importance. each of them is a good place to buy items online.

Online Shopping in Ghana – How to Buy Items Online in Ghana
Just like any other shopping website, these are the steps for online shopping in Ghana. Better still, the steps in buying items online in Ghana:
- Choose your payment method: Be it PayPal, Cash on Delivery, Bank Account Payment, Cheque, or Credit or Debit Card payment, or Mobile Money.
- Choose the store from where to buy your items. It can be Amazon, eBay, or local shops like Zoobashop, Jumia, etc.
- Browse through the items; you can also go through the categories and make a choice. When choosing your product, you may look out for the rating and all pictures before hitting the Buy Now button.
- Provide an address, preferably known as your shipping address and wait for your item to be delivered to you.
Classified Sites in Ghana (Buy and Sell Ads Sites)
Aside from regular eCommerce sites or online shopping sites in Ghana, there are the buy and sell ads sites that makeย it easier and quicker to sell or buy items online. They do this by removing the burden of payment processors. All you do is to take the contact of the one selling the item. The next thing is to give them a call, meet and get your item. Such sites include:
- OLX
- Tonaton, and
- Jumia Deals

I think the above websites, OLX, Tonaton, and the rest are taking over the eCommerce sphere. They now seem to be the best place to go for most people in the country.
This is because of the ease of use. It is now the main thing that comes to mind when it comes to online shopping in Ghana.

I don’t know anyone else’s experience but i made an order in August, we’re in October now. I do not have the item nor do I have a refund.

ITS MORE THAN A MONTH. NOW THERE SITE IS ALSO NOT WORKING , NOR ANYONE PICKING UP THE PHONE.
Nor do they reply emails as well.
Well, they’ve just given me content to write about and she’d light on.. sad.
That’s about how long it takes for shipment to arrive from either the UK or US.
So why would they promise 5-15 days?

I just placed an order worth a little over GHS 4,000.00 on Ahonya.com,
i tried calling but no response. I called their second number and it was even switched off.
I deposited GHS 50.00 just to see if they will even update my account and order details.
But no, no update, no response to messages and phones switched off. Looks like the whole Ahonya.com stuff is some 419 scam ooh.
Tony if I get you right they owe u 50 Ghc.They should not be allowed to keep any penny they haven’t worked.They are criminals.

They have a value proposition on their site which they can obviously not deliver and yet they are not altering that and they acting like everything is cool and still taking monies from new customers when they’ve not been able to deliver what earlier ones ordered.

thanks for saving me this trouble because I was about to order loads of items I have wanted to buy from Amazon for years. Don’t they have an office building around Mallam junction? I thought I saw something like that on their website.
Ahonya have a poor quality of service.but the whole delivery thing is true ,I a placed an order and it took me 3 month to get my product .I don’t think am going to shop there again.
After stealing so much money from people using ahonyabid, this is what they are about now.
This is organized crime and the Police and National Security should do something about this.

I ordered for 2 phones but did not pay until they delivered.
Their customer service was very nice, I ordered for 2 hotwav phones and they delivered it to me at Achimota that same day before I paid.

Ghana online shops are all scam, Tonaton is the most serious platform for criminals. They dupe people day in day out and when you report they will not acknowledge your response.
Please stop blogging about this or else you will lose you potential ready.
